Regional Sales Manager, Central Business Unit
Ready to lead a high-performing sales team across South and Central Texas? Coach talent, grow territories, and help bring more play and active living to communities.
The Role
KOMPAN U.S. is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead our South and Central Texas sales team within the Central Business Unit. Reporting to the Business Unit Director, the Regional Sales Manager will lead a team of Direct Sales Representatives across Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and the I-35 corridor.
This is a non-selling leadership role measured by the results of the entire team rather than an individual book of business. The Regional Sales Manager will focus on coaching and developing the sales team, recruiting and onboarding new representatives, executing business development strategies, and driving continued market growth.
The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with the Business Unit Director, who owns the Central business plan and budget. This position will also partner with Project Managers and Architectural Designers to support sales opportunities, improve quote activity, increase win rates, and drive profitable growth.
What You’ll Do
Own the team’s quote activity, order intake, win rate, gross profit percentage, and growth against established targets.
Lead, coach, and develop Direct Sales Representatives through multistep, long-cycle sales processes that typically range from 9 to 18 months.
Recruit, hire, and onboard new sales representatives to strengthen market coverage and sales density.
Conduct joint sales calls and field ride-alongs to support key opportunities and develop the team.
Resolve customer escalations and open commercial matters, including aged receivables.
Lead weekly pipeline and forecasting reviews.
Establish a consistent sales process while reinforcing CRM discipline and accurate forecasting in partnership with Sales Enablement.
Contribute to the Central business plan with the Business Unit Director, including territory coverage, customer-segment strategy, key accounts, landscape architect specifications, and pricing discipline.
Partner with Project Management and Architectural Design to advance the team’s opportunities.
Build a healthy, high-performing, and collaborative culture across Sales and supporting functions.
Collaborate with National Accounts, Bid and Tender, Inside Sales, and Fitness teams so national programs and field-sales efforts reinforce one another.
Present the team’s results, pipeline, key wins and losses, and actions to close performance gaps during monthly Central business reviews.
Set clear expectations, monitor and evaluate performance, provide ongoing feedback, and address underperformance promptly.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree.
At least 8 years of successful B2B sales experience.
At least 3 years of experience leading or coaching a direct field-sales team.
A demonstrated record of growing territories and achieving sales targets.
Experience working in an activity-based, CRM-driven sales environment.
Strong ability to use pipeline, forecasting, and performance data to lead a team and make informed decisions.
Experience with long-cycle B2B sales to public- and private-sector customers.
Experience in outdoor infrastructure, commercial recreation, or a related industry is preferred.
Experience building and developing a sales team in a high-growth market.
Knowledge of the Houston, Austin, and San Antonio markets and their specifier communities is preferred.
Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
